In compliance with the Stay at home directive by the President and Commander in chief of the Armed Forces, President, Muhammadu Buhari as measures put in place to halt the spread of Coronavirus otherwise known as COVID 19 pandemic in Nigeria, the Peace Corps of Nigeria partners with the combined team of Security Agencies (Task Force)

You may wish to recall that the National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria, DrDickson Akoh , on 27th March, 2020, directed officers and men of the Corps to avail themselves to render Voluntary Services across the 36 States of the Federation, including Federal Capital Territory during this time of National emergency.

It may interest you to know that, officers of the Corps in Kaduna, Delta etc are working with the combined team of Security Agencies (Task Force) to enforce the Presidential directive as well as sensitize Nigerians on the need to stay safe.

Dr Akoh urge all and sundry to comply fully with the directive of Mr President as it is part of efforts to keep Nigerians safe from the dreaded COVID 19, adding that the stay at home directive would not only help in curtailing the spread of the pandemic but will also assist the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and other relevant authorities in contact tracing in order not to allow the virus spread to other places especially the local communities.

He further reiterated that all State Commands should liaise with the Task Force and Ministry of Health respectively in their States for social engagement.

Urging officers and men of the Corps Nationwide to continue to stay safe even as they render their services to our fatherland, Nigeria.

Millicent Umoru
Corps Public Relations Officer, Peace Corps of Nigeria.
