CHIEF JUDGE SUMMONS INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE OVER CONTEMPT OF COURT

PCN
March 19, 2015
General, News

The lingering face-off between Police and Peace Corps of Nigeria has taken another dimension following the summon of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, by the Federal High Court. This is resulting from the constant molestation and harassment of Members of PCN by the Police despite the Court judgment delivered by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Ibrahim Auta in 2011 restraining the Police from the constant harassments following the credence of PCN as a Legal entity as against the previous charges of the Police stating that PCN was illegal. The summon/court sitting which was slated for 21st, January, 2014 was adjourned to 27th, February as the Judge did not sit on the earlier stated date.
