COVID-19: Ondo State Ministry of Health Engages Peace Corps of Nigeria.

Having shown unpresidented interest in providing technical support to the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) to battle covid-19 pandemic in the state, the ministry of health through the Epideminology department has called on the service of the  corps to deploy its  personnel to various banks across the state for the purpose  of advocacy for customers to observe social distancing.

Peace Corps is a purpose-driven organization that revolves on peace building with purposeful ledership and aimed at repositioning the desire peace and good moral attitude in the society.

Recall that the state commandant Pat kayode Poroye has earlier expressed willingness and rediness to partner with state gorvernment to combat the spread of the virus in the state.

In lieu of this, the  Assistant State commandant in charge of volunteers has been deployed to team up with the task force from ministry of Health, a team saddled with the responsiblity to move round the 18 local government of the state for the purpose of monitoring and ensure compliance of COVID-19 protocol while some officers will be deployed to some bank headquarters today.

Pat Poroye maintains that with the orientation of his officers, they were more strategically positioned and equipped to enter into synergy with the government in providing voluntary and humanitarian services to forestall further escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state…
