3 Membership Levels

The membership of the PCN is open to all Nigerian youths, irrespective of their age, religion, tribe, sex or social status.

Membership of the organization is an exclusive preserve of Nigerian citizens, and is open to all youths, both male and female, irrespective of political and social status, ethnicity, State of origin or religious affiliation. There are three categories of Membership: the Regular Members, the Volunteers Cadre and Student Membership.

So far, PCN has membership strength of over 187,000 youths, comprising of well trained officers, both regular members and volunteers (mostly graduates of different disciplines) with a network of branches in the 36 states of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory.

Regular Members

In line with the Corp’s objective to positively pre-occupy the youths through its job creation initiative for the teeming unemployed youths, a panacea for checking the high rate of youth involvement in crime and social vices, the Corps engages the services of unemployed youths with a minimum academic qualification of Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), and within the ages of 18-35 years.


These youths, who after distinct initial training and orientation are given the status of Peace Officers or Men, are thus entitled to monthly stipends, paid jointly by the organization and the direct beneficiary of their services.

Student Members

In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution of PCN, membership of the organization is open to all students of educational institutions, from the secondary to tertiary levels. Membership is on voluntary basis.


Generally, confirmation of Membership in any of the categories is subject to the collection and filling in applicant’s own handwriting, of a Membership Form, and subsequent submission of the duly completed form, subject to intensive scrutiny and profiling by the organization.
