SENATE 2019: AKOH ADVOCATES FOR OLD OKPOKWU AND OJU
* Proposes An Endowment Fund to cater for Onov’s Children

As the tussle for 2019 approaches, so many eavesdropping, particularly imagined fabrications, have filled the Benue political firmament. Amidst these permutations, the National Commandant of the Nigeria Peace Corps, Ambassador Dickson Akoh disabused the mind of the general public, over the rumoured 2019 Senatorial ambition.

Speaking to journalists, during his condolence visit to the Benue APC Secretariat over the demise of Mr Tyuulugh Onov, the Party State Secretary, Akoh said, he has no intention to contest the 2019 elections, rather the final harmonisation and assent to the Peace Corps Bill is his priority and desire, because that will be more beneficiary not just to Benue South or Benue but to the entire Nigeria Youths.

According to Amb. Akoh, he believes in fair play and power sharing in politics, and that Otukpo has taken more than enough shares of the political cornucopia in Benue South. He further states that, since the re-emergence of democratic governance in 1999, it is Otukpo that has been dominating the senatorial seat to the disadvantage of the other local government in the zone. As such, he will support any candidate for Senate that will emerge outside the old Otukpo comes 2019.

Answering question on the #40,000 collected from jobless Youth, the Peace Ambassador states, The Nigeria police force is only trying to make news and maliciously discredit the good efforts, that is going to yield positive impact for Nigerians. It has been on record that the Nigerian Police force has been in the habit of pulling down every para military security outfit; the force (Police) did that to the Nigerian custom, the Federal Road Safety Service and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps. So we the Peace Corps of Nigeria cannot claim to be different. We have already cleared the air on the collection of 40 thousand naira, as the money is meant for uniforms and kits. Ours is not government organisations but a voluntary one. Even at that, what we paid for uniform, which is of more quality, is far less than what the Nigeria government budgets for Nigeria Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uniform, That is about #70,000.

On the demise of Onov, Akoh noted that, the death of Onov is a huge loss, recounting his leadership qualities and uncommon commitment to the success and progress of the APC. Akoh used the opportunity to commiserate with the Party (APC) leaders, the Executive Governor of Benue, Samuel Ortom and particularly the APC family, and pray for his repose and ask that Almighty should give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. Akoh further stressed, ” it should be our concern and responsibility to take care of the family, particularly at this time that they are passing through pains. Akoh then, propose the setting up of an endowment fund to take care of Late Onov’s Children, especially those in school.

There is virtually no peace loving country in the world that doesn’t have a peace corps. It’s even biblical that where there’s no peace the holy spirit of the living God doesn’t duel therein and as such prosperity can never become a reality in such an environment, community, state or concerned country. The truth is bitter and it can be delayed but can never be denied. Nigeria is now rated as one of the countries with the highest population of unemployed youths. Recall; an idol hand is the devils workshop. Unemployment can be an engineering factor for all sorts of criminalities that is currently eating up our dear country Nigeria. My take on this (Open Signal to PMB)………..With due respect sir, I humbly wish to recommend as follows that; the legal engagement of the Nigerian youths who are fully ready to work through the Peace Corps of Nigeria ” PCN” should be signed and enacted as an act. Let it be that it’s your time that the long delayed truth became a reality. Sir we are ready to work as law abiding citizens, we are naturally wired to peacefully see the country to greater heights and professionally contribute our own quota to economic development. Please kindly Support the dream of the Peace Corps of Nigeria National Commandant Amb. (Dr.) Akoh Dickson and all peace loving Nigerians who still believe in Nigeria. We may speak in different (unity in diversity) tongues in terms of dialect but in brotherhood we stand. Your excellency sir the security of our dear country Nigeria will become a reality when Peace Corps of Nigeria Bill is enacted. Your excellency sir, The unity of our dear country Nigeria is currently at the verge of collapsed because of inflammatory speeches here and there, Peace Corps of Nigeria is very much enthusiastic to revive national unity, peaceful coexistence and economic development. This is the only country we can truly call our own. Please kindly give peace a chance. Let peace come in to peacefully effect the CHANGE your administration have come to make. God bless President Muhammadu Buhari (chief commander of the armed forces), all chiefs of the armed and unarmed forces of Nigeria, PCN national commandant Abm. (Dr.) Akoh Dickson, all PCN states commandants and all peace officers nationwide, thank you.
Baba please kindly sign it, we need job.
